Chinese President Xi Jinping’s special envoy will attend the inauguration of John Dramani Mahama as president of Ghana, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Monday.
Hao Mingjin, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, will attend the inauguration ceremony in Accra, the capital of the Western African country, on January 7, said Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Mahama was declared the winner of the presidential election by the Electoral Commission of Ghana on December 9, 2024.
