China’s State Council Information Office on November 29 released a white paper titled “China’s Rural Roads in the New Era.”
“If you want to become better off, build a road.” Guided by poverty alleviation programs and policies, China has taken extraordinary steps and made enormous efforts to expedite the development of rural transport in poor areas.
The white paper states in the past decade, more than 1,100 townships and 45,000 administrative villages have been newly integrated into the rural transport networks. As a result, all townships and administrative villages where conditions allow have access to bus services.
