The third China Media Group (CMG) Annual Chinese TV Drama Ceremony was held in China’s capital city Beijing on Wednesday.
As many as 21 awards, ranging from the best actor and actress to the best drama series, were granted at the event. Among them, Chinese actors Yu Hewei and Jing Dong, Chinese actresses Song Jia and Liu Yifei won the honors of “Actor of the Year” and “Actress of the Year” respectively. Besides, 15 popular TV series, including The Tale of Rose, To the Wonder and Romance in the Alley, won the “Outstanding TV Series of the Year” honor.
The Film and Television Tourism Consumption Integration Year was also launched on the occasion, aiming to promote the integration of film and television, cultural tourism and consumption as well as the high-quality development of the cultural tourism sector.
The ceremony was filled with songs and dances, showcasing the famous scenes of popular TV dramas in the past year and paying tribute to the behind-the-scenes workers.
The ceremony will be rebroadcast on CCTV-1 at 5:00 p.m. on January 30 and CCTV-8 at prime time on February 2.
